Is it REALLY spring? LOADS of pics :D

Well, I don't believe it is here! It's been right about 25 every morning when I get up to let the chickens out. Then it warms up to about 35 or so in the day. Just sucks! It's been like this all week. I'm sick of winter now. We still have snow piles everywhere yet! A few days ago we had a snow storm...threw 2 inches of snow on us. This week is SAYS were suppose to get up to 49 all week but we will see.

Well, remember the bantam cochins I had in the incubator? I have four beautiful babies! Here they are: I have been told they will possibly be blues. They have a chance to be blacks as well...I'm hoping for blue. From the looks of it I may have all blues :D

Here is Nic with one of his silkies that he will show at the fair next year.

Remember the chicks that the mommy hen was eating? Here are two of the ones I saved. The little brown one was a second from being swallowed down. She almost didn't make it. She had a bloody spot on her back and wasn't moving for the longest time after hatch :( She is just great today :D

Remember the tiny chick that was stuck in his shell for four days back in Nov? I had to hatch him out totally myself? Well, here HE is today! He's HUGE! And he's only 5 mos old. He still has lots of growing to do. He's a blue orpington:

Here he is after I got him hatched out:

And today:

And I just have to share pics of my bantam cochins Beauty and the Beast:

I have pics of all my silkies but I have to take new ones (the changed SO much) and I will post both pics here on my day off...TOMORROW! I can't wait!

Work has really been tiring lately. I have had SO much laundry to do it's been nuts. I take a 15 min break for dinner and then it's back to work. I'm getting used to standing and walking for 8 hours straight that's for sure! Maybe I should take up jogging again? LOL

Well, no movie reviews becasue we don't have time for movies anymore! :( Were all good and healthy here so that's a good thing. This thursday we go to Stefan's track meet.
Stefan graduates in June! Then he's off to college. He goes early becasue of football practice. After he leaves, the next time we see him will be Thanksgiving/Christmas area. It will be the longest ever I have not seen him. It's going to be so hard and I'm going to go WAY more grey then I already am with worry!
We got his report card this week and so far it's been all A's and B's this semester :D

I think thats all the news I had but I will take more pics and post more tomorrow. Here is another cute pic of my little niece Jenna. Isn't she just a cutie!

OH one more thing...we had our first cull Monday :( It was our White crested black polish girl Shelby :( She got really sick and wasn't able to come out of it so it was more humane then letting her suffer. IT was SO sad. I felt bad for hubby...he's the one who had to do it. We don't like that part of having chickens.

Here is our girl Shelby:

Your chicks are very pretty. Nic looks cute watching his. Glad the two chicks you saved from the mama are doing good. That little one you got out of it's shell has really grown. Your neice is so cute with her hat on. I am sorry about Shelby. I always hated to have to do that when we raised commercial layers. Have a great day off. Helen

Hey girl, I am catching up around here. I am so sorry you had to put Shelby down. Hey, not that it matters now, but I have found injectable antibiotics to help tremendously compared to trying to get them to take it by mouth with a syringe. How was she acting? I can't cull, I have done it once, well twice, but it has to get pretty bad before I will do it. I just don't have it in me. Sorry hubby had to do it, sorry anyone had to, I know it sucked bad. Nic looks like he is really admiring his bird, I know he will love showing. I hope the weather warms up soon for y'all. It hasnt been too Springish around here, so much rain, overcast, high winds, I dont know if we are going to blow away or float away! I miss you, and think of you often. Love, Kelly

Forgot to say

Btw, the vets just give you the meds to Uthnize the bird, you dont have to take them to a vet and do it?

( btw... If I am wrong just tell me I am wrong but if its graphic spare me the details I am a ANIMAL LOVER and would have nightmares for weeks )
